Departure from the shop: riding straight out of the town centre
This is what sets us apart, and it is measured in time saved. You walk into the shop, you take the bike, and you go. The trails start where the town ends.
- No shuttle, no car journey — you reach the trails directly on your electric mountain bike.
- Zero logistics: no meeting point in a car park 30 minutes away, no car-sharing to organise, no bike rack.
- You are in the saddle within 10 minutes, the time it takes to set up the bike and run the safety briefing.
- And you come back to the town centre: the ride ends where it started, a stone's throw from the lake.

Prices include VAT and instruction. Every format leaves from the shop, 23 faubourg Sainte-Claire in Annecy — except the Shuttle & Guiding, where the shuttle is included. Need a bike for a whole day without an instructor? See our electric mountain bike rental.
The Skills Assessment
One hour to find out where you actually stand. Your instructor sends you down a short timed course, films you on the key sections, then plays the footage back with you.
- Warm-up and a first look at the course.
- Two timed runs, filmed at the spots that cost you time.
- Video debrief: what is holding you back, in order of importance.
- Three drills to work on by yourself before the next session.
It is the ideal starting point before a course: you know what to work on, and you have a measured benchmark to track your progress.
Professional instruction, no unpleasant surprises

Frequently asked questions about the MTB school
Do I need to bring my own bike?
It depends on the world — and it is written on every line of the price table:
- World 1, guided riding (Semnoz Discovery and Experienced rides, enduro day): the electric mountain bike is provided. You bring nothing but your sports kit.
- World 2, private & progression (private ride, skills course, Wednesday session, Shuttle & Guiding, Skills Assessment): you come with your own bike. If you do not have one, we rent you one — a paid option, never a reason not to book.
Either way, helmet, gloves and elbow/knee pads are provided.
Can I rent an electric mountain bike with a private format?
Yes, on every "bring your own bike" format. The bike is a Lapierre Overvolt AM 5.6, the same one we use on our guided rides.
The price is our standard rental rate, minus 10% because you are riding with an instructor:
- €63 per half day (instead of €70)
- €76.50 per day (instead of €85)
- for the Adult Skills Course, which runs over three sessions, we quote a package price — just call us.
The option must be booked in advance: our fleet is limited and we cannot guarantee a given size on the day. If you want the bike on its own, without an instructor, use our electric mountain bike rental.
What are the minimum age and height?
- Guided rides (world 1): from 14 years old and 1.50 m.
- Private formats (world 2): from 12 years old, 1.50 m and with parental consent. The skills course and the Wednesday session remain from 14.
- Shuttle & Guiding: from 16 years old.
The 1.50 m requirement is not negotiable: it is the height from which our bikes can be set up correctly, and a badly set-up bike is a dangerous bike downhill.
Is my analogue mountain bike accepted?
Yes, but on private rides only, half day or full day. That is the format where you set the pace yourself, so a bike without a motor holds nobody back.
On the other formats — skills course, Wednesday session, Shuttle & Guiding — the group rides electric mountain bikes: an analogue bike would be dropped on the climbs. You will need an e-MTB, either yours or ours as a paid option (€63 per half day, €76.50 per day).
What level do I need?
No technical level is required for the Discovery ride, the private ride, the skills course and the Wednesday session: you simply need to pedal and brake confidently on a forest track. The content is built from what you can already do.
The Experienced ride, the enduro day and the Shuttle & Guiding assume regular downhill practice: narrow trails, roots and committing sections. If in doubt, call us and we will point you to the right format.
What happens if it rains?
We ride. Mountain biking is an outdoor sport and a damp trail often has more grip than a dry one; just bring a jacket and a change of clothes.
In case of thunderstorms, strong wind or conditions the instructor judges unsafe, the session is postponed or refunded. The decision is made on the morning at the latest and we call you.
How many people are there in a group?
8 riders maximum per instructor, whatever the format. Above that, a second instructor takes part of the group.
In detail: the private ride is booked for 1 to 7 riders, the Wednesday session runs from 4 sign-ups, and the Shuttle & Guiding runs with 4 to 7 riders.
Tell us your level, we will tell you which format to take
Hesitating between a guided ride, a private session and the skills course? A two-minute call settles it. We will also tell you whether you need a bike, and which one.
